WILLIAM SMITH BUILDING, KEYWORTH CONTRACTOR: SOL CONSTRUCTION ARCHITECT: PICK EVERARD The William Smith Building is the newest addition to the British Geological Survey headquarters in Keyworth, Nottingham. At 3000m², the William Smith Building is the largest wooden-framed open-plan office building in the UK. The Building was built to the highest environmental standards. M & G Olympic Products Ltd supplied and installed two helical feature staircases to the central atrium complete with tubular stringers, landings, timber treads and risers. In addition stainless steel balustrading complete with horizontal bar infill and timber handrail supplied and installed to staircases and atrium balcony.
